Only needle sizeDouble eye needles have two eyes and are designed for sewing with two upper threads (needle threads). They can be used for decorative effects, creating quilting or using decorative stitches. When threads of the same color are used, the seam becomes thicker and draws more attention, creating an effect similar to sewing with a thicker thread. The double eye needle allows for unique accents by using different colored or multicolored threads: thanks to the two eyes, the thread sequence is always fixed, unlike sewing with two threads in one eye. This looks especially good when using decorative stitches.
Insert the Double Eye needle into the needle holder as far as it will go, just like any other needle. Thread the two upper threads through all the sewing machine controls according to the user manual. Use all the separation elements above the needle. Then thread one of the threads through the upper eye, and the other through the lower eye. Note that the automatic needle threader does not work with the Double Eye needle. The bobbin is inserted as usual, just like with other needles.
First, test decorative stitches on leftover fabric with the smallest width, then gradually increase the stitch width. When using a Double Eye needle, the effective stitch width is limited on many sewing machines. This depends on the sewing machine's features. If the chosen stitch width is too large, the upper eye thread is no longer properly caught by the hook, which can cause skipped stitches. In this case, choose a smaller stitch width.
Be bold and start experimenting: the possibilities are endless, and you can truly achieve
