Lai šūtu ar kokvilnas trikotāžu, ieteicams izmantot Jersey vai Stretch adatas ja ir ļoti elatīga trikotāža tad ieteicams izmantot Super Stretch adatas, kas ir speciāli veidotas elastīgiem audumiem. Šīm adatām ir noapaļots gals, kas ļauj tām viegli slīdēt starp trikotāžas šķiedrām, nesabojājot audumu. Adatu izmērs parasti ir atkarīgs no auduma biezuma, bet kokvilnas trikotāžai bieži vien piemēroti izmēri ir 70/10 vai 80/12.
